A 1.5 month-old male with rapid and irregular pulse rate had an uncommon form of atrial
tachycardia. The electrocardiogram was compatable with the diagnosis of chaotic atrial
tachycardia or multifocal atrial tachycardia. The patient was treated with digoxin.

A group of 514 newborn infants with gestational ages between 28 weeks and 36 weeks were
studied for the influence of pronolonged rupture of amniotic membranes and maternal hype-
rtension. during pregnancy on. the incidence of Idiopathic Respiratory Distress Syndrome

Scanlon*s Early Neonatal Neurobehavioral Scale was administered to 110 babies delivered
by normal labor and cesarean section.
Fifty of the mothers had normal vaginal delivery, thirty of the mothers were induced into
general anesthesia with thiopental sodium and thirty of the mothers received spinal anesthe-
sia with tetracaine before cesarean section.
